Today we will continue with a paper model. We will then design a larger one in which will be large enough for 2 people to sit in.
We will be looking at scale. We will be taking the small triangles and then making them bigger through the math. We will then make several of the new trianlges and begin to place them in the form of the geodesic dome. Here is website that will help with scale.
5th and 6th Graders
This week we will continue to work to finish up from the work we did last week.
This week we will look at density and buoyancy. To help us understand a little more about density and buoyancy I am going to refer to the expert....Bill Nye.
To win this competition you will have to hold the most weight before it sinks. We will be comparing how much weight your boat can hold in pennies (remember a roll of 50 pennies is 4.5 oz) and in golf balls (remember a golf ball weighs 1.62 oz).
