This next project we will be starting a short project that I think will be fun and interesting. We will be doing a Paper Slide Videos. The topic of these slides: A Christmas tradition from a foreign country. You will be making a paper slide show that discusses a Christmas Holiday festival or tradition from a country that celebrates Christmas . This country must be outside of the United States.
I have placed several resources in a Schoology folder that I shared with you. We will be spending time in the computer lab to do some research. You will need to make a bibliography of all of the sources you use including websites, books, or magazines.
This project will only last a few weeks. So don't waste time. All videos will be posted to our YouTube channel. You can see what is posted on there by clicking the link at the top of the website.
This week we will be looking at battering rams, and medieval times. We will look to have a better understanding of:
- The various modes of protection incorporated into castle designs.
- Military inventions and the design / purpose of the battering ram
- How simple machines (wheels) can be used to solve design problems
- How gravity can be used to generate force.
Our goal for this week is to learn and apply the structural concepts associated with castle design. These concepts will enhance your understanding of structural integrity, and the utilization of simple machines, and how gravity can be used to generate force.
